New trends: texture and sensory interaction
New trends: texture and sensory interaction
A new trend is emerging in contemporary design that celebrates unusual and interactive textures to give depth and character to spaces. This trend, known as Hyper-Texture, invites to think beyond conventional surfaces, enriching the environment with tactile and multi-sensory elements that stimulate perception. The idea is to create captivating and joyful experiences, where soft and boldly shaped materials evoke a sense of lightness and familiarity.
An example of this innovative approach is the CLOUDS Collection by IAMMI: seats made of recycled foam rubber that reinterpret the grace of clouds, combining sustainability and ethereal aesthetics. This collection not only brings a touch of serenity to environments, but also represents a balance between environmental responsibility and avant-garde design.

Matter, light, interaction: the stand for Tecnografica at Cersaie 2024
Matter, light, interaction: the stand for Tecnografica at Cersaie 2024
Tecnografica Italian Wallcoverings chose materia-studio to design its stand for Cersaie 2024, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, held in Bologna from the 23rd to 27th of September.
The concept of the stand was developed in synergy with the client’s moodboard and it was designed to engage visitors in an experience that is as sensorial as it is interactive. In this project, we tried to combine functionality and aesthetics with interactivity, in line with the new Tecnografica collections presented at Cersaie.
Every detail has been conceived to create a space where innovation and design come together, promoting a continuous dialogue between the product and the visitor.
